BLECKSMITH-James
Patrick Blecksmith (J.P.), 2nd Lt. USMC;
passed away on November 11, 2004 in Falluja, Iraq.
J.P. was born in Pasadena, CA on September 26, 1980. He
graduated from Flintridge Preparatory School in 1999,
where he played quarterback and ran track. He graduated
with a B.S. degree in economics from the United States
Naval Academy May 2003 and took his commission in the
Marine Corps, graduating from The Basic School at
Quantico, VA. After completion of the Infantry Officers'
Course, J.P. was assigned to Camp Pendelton to join the
3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment. He was deployed to
Iraq on September 10, 2004. J.P. is survived by his
parents, Pam and Ed; his sister, Christina, 27; his
brother, Alex 25; his grandmother, Peggy McCormick; his
uncles Kimo McCormick (Alison), John McCormick (Ann),
Steve Blecksmith and nine cousins. Service are scheduled
for Saturday, November 20th at 1:00 P.M. at Church of
Our Saviour in San Gabriel, CA. In lieu of flowers, a
memorial fund has been established in his honor at
Flintridge Peparatory School, 4543 Crown Ave., La
